President's Report

News

By John Guadagno

As I write this article for the Conduit, I hope we have seen the last of the cold weather. This month's Conduit will focus on topics very important to our future and that of Local 25.

This June, we will hold an election for our leadership in this great Local. It is of utmost importance that the membership exercises one of its most important rights as a union member, voting.

The month of May will see nominations of candidates for all the offices here in Local 25, as well as nominations to the convention in San Diego. This is the time when we get to know the candidates and understand their views on our future pathways. Their experience in the trade and interactions with other members are just two of the considerations that all should be aware of when choosing a candidate. Getting to know your fellow workers on the job site is a great way to start understanding what type of candidate they will make.

Please look for our special election Conduit for all nominated candidates. Candidates can write up to 200 words about their experiences and visions for this great local of ours. The deadline for all articles will be 12 pm on Friday, May 15, 2026. Please take the time to read each one of the candidates' views. Elections will be held at the June meeting. Again, voting is one of the most important tasks we as union members have.

At the March meeting, we nominated a Judge and 8 tellers. Dan Hilton was elected Judge and will do a great job overseeing our elections.

On the volunteer front, we have a few projects this year for anyone who wants to help. Please call the President's office for details.

This concludes my report for this edition of the Conduit. Work smart, work safe, until we meet again.
